Hearts Repaired and Replaced
This quilt is for a benefit in our community in September. A young woman named Kim was born with heart issues and has had many surgeries in her young life. Now in her twenties she needed a heart transplant and was blessed to receive the new heart this year. The quilt is adapted from a quilt as you go design but I made the top and quilted it as a full quilt. The blocks were made in pairs then slashed and sewn together to create the light and dark as well as the repaired hearts. The back is piece using a zipper from the MSQC tutorial Zipper Quilt. Love the zipper to add interest to the back of the quilt and use up some of the scraps.
