Double Crossed

I made this quilt for a gentleman that has recently retired. He moved to South Carolina and promises to send me a photo of himself with it on his lap, in his rocking chair on the front porch. Maybe when the weather is cooler. It is an Amy Smart pattern but it resembles Summer in the Park. I am trying that one next. I did FMQ on my Babylock.

Sunburst Quilt

This is a Geta Grama inspired quilt. I found the tutorial on Elsie's Girl blog. I made this quilt for a co-worker who is expecting a baby next month. I am happy with the way it turned out. The quilting pattern is a flowering vine that meanders through the sunburst blocks. Natalie, my talented, artistic daughter, drew the vine, leaves and flowers on the quilt for me to follow. She even added a few curly offshoots for added interest.

Argyle Quilt

I made this quilt for my husband. I wanted something masculine and after searching through many patterns, I made this one up myself. I looked at men's socks for inspiration. :-) It is very large and heavy so it ended up as a couch quilt in the camper. It is made with Kona cotton fabric and quilted tightly in a stipple pattern.

Orange Peel Quilt

I made this quilt to fit the king sized bed in our 5th wheel camper. I added a scalloped border around the bottom half and omitted where the bed fits in the slide. Anyone that has tried to shove a comforter down the sides of a bed in a slide out will appreciate this. It has 244 5" squares and took 12 hours to FMQ. I quilted around the orange peels which makes an interesting pattern on the back. Two tutorials from MSQC assisted me in making this quilt. The orange peel and the scalloped edge tutorials. The scallop tool works great. I love this quilt.

Scrappy Triangle Quilt

I found this tutorial on Film In The Fridge (filminthefridge.com) and loved the pattern and mixture of colors. It is a good scrap buster because you can use all shapes and sizes. It is straight line quilted like the one on the site. It was a fun project.
