Scrabble Quilt

I made this two-sided quilt for my cousin who loves word games. The back of the quilt is a blank Scrabble board and there are 100 letter tiles so she can play an actual game of Scrabble on it. All the lettering is machine embroidered. The general idea for this quilt came from the MSQC Scrabble Tutorial.

Jack and Jill

This fabric was given to me in 8x13" strips. I wasn't quite sure how I could use it, because I primarily make baby quilts and it didn't look "babyish" enough to me. But when I saw Jenny's Jack and Jill pattern I decided to try it and I think the pattern helped to give it a baby feel.

Falling Charms Plus

My friends daughter is having the families first grandchild. I wanted a very special quilt for this precious girl. I had lots of charm packs so decided why not. Then I though I need to add something. So I added and extra set of strips. Part way through I decided she needs a pillow for the rocking chair. I made an envelope pillow cover that the top was quilted. I always worry that people are just being polite about gifts. She loved it. She opened the package up and started crying. Worries over and I learned how to make a quilted envelope pillow cover to match the quilt.

Scrappy Quilts

We moved so this motivated me to get my scraps "under control." I ironed, and folded, putting them in little shoebox tubs, and with the real small pieces either cut little squares, or rectangles. These two quilts are the results of doing that. I have been learning to free motion quilt on my home machine. So I marked these and tried to follow the lines.
