I joined a monthly block class at my local quilt shop over a year ago. It was Lori Holt's Farm Girl Vintage. I finished and it came back from the quilter a couple of months ago. It turned out great. The squares at 6" and I put Yo-Y0's in the corners. I thoroughly enjoyed doing this and love how it turned out.

My Disappearing Hourglass 2 Quilt

Ever since I saw the tutorial for this quilt, I wanted to make it. I made this for one of my husbands cousins. Not knowing her house colors, I chose red and white since they are Cincinnati Reds fans. I'm not very good at FMQ, but if you don't look too close, :) it came out pretty good. I'll be sending it off after I show it to my quilting friends.

Oh so Yummy!

I saw this quilt kit in a quilting catalog. I had never ordered a kit before so I cut it out thinking I had all the time in the world to order it. Well the kit sold out which bummed me out so I had to order the pattern then try to find similar fabrics. It turned out beautiful, not quite a luscious as the designer's quilt. The quilt is being gifted to my sister-in-law to go in a yellow and grey room in their new home. I learned that if you see a kit you love, buy it!

The Purple Elephant

I had decided to stop taking custom orders for quilts because its no fun to HAVE to sew. Just a couple weeks afterwards a repeat customer asked me to make her the Elephant Abstractions for her in purples. I had had my eye on that quilt for awhile and I was so excited I totally forgot that I was not going to do any more custom jobs and took this one. It was a lot of work but I hunkered down and did it. Elsie's hexie quilt

This is my first hand stitched quilt, made on night shifts this past year. Elsie is our eldest twin and child no. 5. The quilt is made from the scraps of previous quilts and backed with a vintage sheet. I top stitched in pink and turquoise in 2 styles. The border is bias binding... All my other ideas didn't look right. Next up is Meg's diamond quilt.
