Sit and Sew for Cancer
Our church quilting group joined up with another neighboring church group and a 3rd group of just friends sew together group. We were 23 people. We worked from 9 to 2 and made for ladies who have mastectomies and then chemo useful items to help them. 51 seat belt pillows for after surgery were sewn stuffed and hand stitched shut. 15 rag type lap quilts made for those in need of chemo. Also prepared pretty gift bags with bows and tissue paper. All supplies donated to us by a local Cancer Association. All items made are donated locally to women in need at local Doctors and hospitals. What a fun day and we met new quilters also. I forgot to get a photo of the pillow but it looks like a stuffed make up bag. It felt so good to do something for ladies who are going though this difficult time.
