kathybloom's likes Stairway to Heaven When he was younger and still living at home, my son and I used to enjoy playing music together. He played guitar and I played the keyboard. Our favorite song was Stairway to Heaven. He asked me if I would make a wall hanging for him and so to honor his 49th birthday I made this for him as a memorial to those great musical times we had together. I love to quilt, really love whole cloth quilts and am mesmerized by Zentangle. This is a combination of all three and a lot of love. I have to say, stitching with heavy black thread on cream fabric was more than a little daunting! So I picked up a plain white fabric shower curtain at Target on clearance for $8. Then I used some left-over scraps of a World Tour jellyroll purchased from a MSQC Daily Deal (a couple of years ago) and created a bordered Summer in the Park pattern. I used a spray basting method to line it all up and then stitched it down. It really brightens up my bathroom! This is my first large project. It was very easy and I'm happy with the results. I used the scraps from the quilt along with Jenny's tutorial for the Colorado block to make the matching pillow top.
