Hope it makes a child's day! By plquilter66 19 LIKES | 1618 VIEWS Colette Pinwheel Pillow Quilts, and Pillows! Usually when I make my daughter a new quilt, she wants a matching pillow. Simple, quick project. With this pillow, I decided to hand quilt .25" along the inside of the solid white. I found the pattern on Moda Bake Shop. I modified the pattern a bit by adding a 2 inch border and plan to use it as a wall hanging during the holidays. I quilted around the border, the star, and tree using stitch in the ditch. I'm planning to make some as Christmas gifts this year. This was before I learned FMQ so I just ran some long wavy channels through as my quilting. By SewyLong 4 LIKES | 717 VIEWS Tulips for Victoria This is for my grand niece's big girl bed as she is getting too big for her crib. I watched the MSQ tulip quilt tutorial and then changed it up with a pin wheel boarder on two sides and scrappy binding. I used part of an "I spy sweet things" layer cake and and a "confetti" charm pack and fabric from my stash. Bright yellow minky on the back. FMQ feathers, scallops, some ruler work and wavy lines. By Jillane 42 LIKES | 7047 VIEWS A-Tisket A-Tasket A Flower Basket Quilt I saw this cute tutorial from Jenny Doan and just has to make it. After checking my stash, I used Riley Blake “Flutterberry” line 10” squares and a pack of white 10” squares. The pattern is called Disappearing Pinwheel Baskets. It also was in Block magazine. I backed it with a very light blue Minky. This pattern was so fun to make and went real fast. The large blocks are 24” square and each basket block is 12”. The quilt is 3 rows by 3 rows. This will be perfect for my grandaughter’s dorm room. I’ll make two pillowcases and a decorator pillow to match with some left over fabric. I used the large animals from the fabric panel on the back of the quilt. UPDATE : I free motioned quilted swirls for the first time on this baby quilt. I learned a lot. I used a scrappy binding.
