My First Quilt
I began quilting just recently at 70 years old. I watched loads of Jenny's tutorials, and decided to do the Garden of Eden quilt for my daughter. I used Lulu Roses and although it is not perfect she is thrilled with it.

My Grandma's flowers

Pond in the Meadow
Inspired by a jelly roll of batiks. I made all the blocks then then realized the only thing I had that matched for a border was an echinacea print from Micheal Miller. It looks like a pond in a meadow of wildflowers to me, so I use it in the dead of winter to remind me spring's just around the corner!.

I enjoy paperpiecing but have procrastinated with this one because I was afraid to pickout the colours.I got fabrics from 2 stores in Canada [my home] and fom Hancocks in Paducah when we traveled there last year.I machine quilted on my Janome Horizon . It took a month in total.
