Finally a quilt for Mom - Sunlight on Pond Scum

I always told myself that I would make a quilt for my mom. I have started several but never finished them. Part of the problem is that my mom LOVES colors that i HATE; greens, yellows, and oranges My daughter, who shares my mom's red headed coloring found both the quilt tutorial and the jelly roll Grasslands. Both my mom and my daughter loved the colors and I wanted to try such a crazy way to make a quilt. I was able to sew it quickly (very important when you are not fond of many of the colors) and soon I was able to send it off to Missouri Star for quilting. It did take me more than an hour, more like most of a weekend but I did have my daughter "helping me" and my entire family coming and making comments on the project. I was able to give it to her for Mother's Day. Both my mom and my daughter love it. My husband named the quilt Sunlight on Pond Scum.
