Baby Girl Rag Quilt

Baby Girl Rag Quilt

One of my daughter's best friends is expecting her first baby in November this year. The girls went through nursing school together, worked at the same hospital for several years, then enrolled in the same MSN program. It's finally time to start their families (my daughter is having a boy in February), and I wanted to do something special for the woman who has been with my daughter through years of nursing education. They held each other up while working and going to school full-time for over two years to become nurse practitioners. My daughter chose this style quilt because she liked one I did for another of her friends this spring. I purchased a layer cake and cut it into five-inch squares to make a finished quilt approximately 30" x 37". Baby can grow into the quilt, and the fabric isn't too juvenile.
