US Navy Quilt of Valor

Our family has had, so far, three generations of Navy men, and we are proud of each and every one. Recently my brother and I collaborated on a US Navy Quilt of Valor for him. Believe it or not, but he “rough” sketched (really rough - actually squiggles on the page) what he would like. Two of the patches are from his actual Navy ball caps and the rest we found in different places. There is no pattern, I just took what he wanted and created this 96” x 98” quilt that will be entered in our local county fair this year. The chevrons were learned from one of Jenny Doan’s patterns in a BLOCK magazine.
