Peggy's Quilt #10 - Pam & Mike's Life Together
This is my 10th quilt. Each block represents a nugget in the lives of good friends, Pam and Mike. For instance, Pam was born in Kansas and Mike was born in Wales, so "Kansas Troubles" and the colors of the flag of Wales (red, green and white) are 2 of the blocks. They have lived in California, New York and now Washington. The Log Cabin block represents their home - the center 3 colors are the outside paint colors of their house. They are both scientists researching T cells and writing abstracts for their papers, so those careers are also represented. There is a canoe/kayak block for their leisure activities. It was a fun 48x64" quilt to put together, using a color palette that goes with their family room (Alice's Scrapbag Collection by Moda). I finished machine piecing in December 2015, and the FMLAQ by Lyn Durbin at Camlyn Quilts was finished in February 2016. The binding was finished by the end of February, using bias binding. I think regular binding would have been just fine. I love quilting! Peggy 040216 PS: Pam sent a photo of the quilt on their sofa, so I added it to this project file today - April 11, 2016
