Peggy's Quilt #18 - Bermuda Batiks

Peggy's Quilt #18 - Bermuda Batiks

This was my quilting project from October 2016 through February 2017. It's my 18th quilt, and is named for the tropical feel of the batik colors. The pattern is "Disappearing Hourglass 2" by Jenny Doan at MSQC. There is a tutorial video on YouTube from December 2014. The pattern is also in BLOCK magazine Winter Vol. 2, issue 1, starting on page 16. My finished quilt size is 65”x65” and the fabrics for the top are assorted batiks with Wilmington Essential Paisley White on White, which I also used for the mitered borders, backside and binding. While I did the piecing, I still send my quilts out to a LAQ expert for long arm quilting. Lynn Durbin at Camlyn Quilts in Smokey Point, Washington has done most of my quilts! I think of 'quilting' as the pattern selection, color and fabric selection and piecing, and then I leave the LAQ part to someone with a talent for that part of the process. Posted by Peggy on June 7, 2017. I love quilting!
