Peggy's Quilt #24 - Grand Adventure
This is my 24th quilt. The pattern is by Jenny Doan in Block Magazine, Vol. 4, Issue 5 (2017), Pages 16-23, plus there is an online tutorial. Linda, a friend of ours, decided to make this as her very first quilt, and asked for help with it. She tried cutting and sewing the blocks, but it wasn't working for her... We ordered more fabric, and I ended up sewing the majority of it, and really enjoyed the process. We used the RJR Wildwood Way fabric collection, with Kona Cotton White for the background. The backside is Kona Cotton Aqua, and the batting is Hobbs Tuscany Silk. Linda started the quilt in May 2018, and not too long after, I took over and finished the frontside piecing in June 2018. We sent it off for long-arm quilting on July 28th, and it came back only 5+ weeks later on September 8th! It took a couple of days for me to sew the binding onto this gigantic 93"x96" quilt. I made two white-with-aqua-cuff pillowcases and two aqua-with-white-cuff pillowcases to match, and later will make a throw pillow with left-over blocks. Linda loves her quilt and reports back that sleeping under a quilt with a silk batt is 'fabulous'. Posted by Peggy at Bothtwins 09/12/18
