Peggy's Quilt #31 - Hawaiian Shirt Quilt
This is Moda's Collection for a Cause 'Sunshine' quilt, but I call it my Hawaiian Shirt Quilt. It has 3 additional borders with a finished size of 82"x85". I cut the fabric for this quilt in September 2018 but put off piecing it until a Quilt Retreat in January 2019. It took a pretty long time at the long-arm quilters, but the binding was finished in early May. Then I decided to add little teeny buttons to each shirt, so we have free-standing shirt collars AND buttons - pretty unusual for a quilt. I hope to donate it for a fund raising auction next year. By that time, there will be pillowcases to match. I love quilting! Posted 06/23/19 Edited the next day: a neighbor's MIL suggested making flannel shirts for her Minnesota husband, and perhaps plaids and stripes for business shirts for her Accountant son. I think this quilt has many possible hacks!
