Hubby's Quilt

My husband worked out of state in Wyoming as I was beginning my quilting adventures. He would either be staying in the "man camp" out in the natural gas fields, or in a hotel for two weeks or more at a time. So I had a mission to make him a warm, manly quilt to take back and forth with him. I picked out all the fabric's from JoAnn's, with 3 browns, 3 blacks and 3 greens. The back is a flannel to help keep it warm, and it actually has two layers of batting in it. All that came in handy one night as he was driving back home and the car broke down over 4 hours away in the middle of the night. He had his quilt to keep him warm, which did a better job than the sleeping bag the other guy in the car with had! He doesn't work out of town any more, so I stole his quilt for my side of the bed, so I have been informed I need to get a move on and get my quilt made, so he can have his back! :) I got to use my new Accuquilt cutter on this quilt, which was a HUGE help on all those stinking triangles. I also did the quilting on my machine, and was able to embroider a little message to him using my Viking Sapphire 960Q.
