Fruit of the Spirit

I made this quilt for my Mom as a Christmas present. Will give it to her this year 2016. I happened to see the fruit of the spirit fabric while in Montana last summer and immediately thought of my Mom. She has always been a big spiritual example in my life and it is impossible to have a conversation with her without hearing her giving praise to God. It took a long time to find fabric that matched that color of purple and gold. Wow... lot harder than I thought it would be. It wasn't until I saw the tutorial for the studio star that a pattern popped into my head. I used the tutorial for that star and then finished it with the sashing and alternating the squares. I can't wait to give it to her this year. :-)
