Boy on a Seahorse
At least twice a year we vacation in Puerto Vallarta, and my idea of a vacation is sitting on the beach relaxing, reading and watching the scenery. This is my interpatation of my view of the boy on a seahorse. I hand painted the seahorse on material then quilted it and then cut it out and placed it on my pieced background which consisted of ink painting the sky, water and sand. I also made confetti out of batik to create the hills and palm trees. The rocks are from batiks layered and quilted. The sea foam is comprised of cheesecloth and thread painting. The entire piece is quilted and for an added glistening I used silver wonderful for the sea highlights.
