Mothers Day

When my husband's grandmother passed away we found this unfinished quilt top at her home. She was an accomplished seamstress and home economics teacher, but we never knew she had done any quilting. I have saved it for almost 15 years until I felt like I knew enough to finish it. Grandma had completed the solid green and yellow diamonds. It looks like it was strip pieced almost like a Lone Star quilt. I added the borders and did the finish work. I gave it to my mother-in-law for Mothers Day 2016. She was so touched to receive something from her mother! (Completed Fall 2015)
