Aliaa's Arrival

Friends of ours in Egypt, Mohamed & Gehan, we're expecting their 3rd child & a little girl so I made a lightweight ragged quilt for her in pinks & purples. I up cycled a duvet cover to make it as it was so soft & the colours were muted by washing.A friend embroidered her name in Arabic & the 4 protective spells from ancient Egyptian to protect her. It was shipped off to Cairo along with presents for all our friends. To this day she still uses her quilt and she is now 4.
