Through the Decades - A Family Keepsake

The blocks in this quilt were started by a mother and daughter almost 50 years ago but life got in the way and it was never completed. The mom has long past away and the daughter, now a grandma herself, gave the blocks (and remaining bits of fabric) to her granddaughter to pass along to another grandma who quilts. That grandma and I are quilting buddies and decided we would finish the quilt together. We had to make 4 more blocks and tried to keep them in the spirit of the original ones. Once it was completed we gave it back to the lovely lady that had started it, and one day it will be returned to her granddaughter.
