Old wallhanging, new quilted game

I cross stitched this piece for my kids over 30 years old, and it used to hang in their bedroom when they were little. I took the piece out of its frame, washed it, tried to block it (that didn't work too well), and it sat until the other day. I took a couple of photos of the animals, laminated the pages, and then cut each animal/letter block out. Then I quilted the cross stitched piece and finished the binding by machine today. Now my grandson can play "match the card to the quilt" and maybe learn his alphabet and animal names, too.
