Red and White "Blue Streak" #1

This was my first quilt-along quilt. The pattern called for red, white, and blue. I decided to go with red, white and taupe. At some point, I got behind in the schedule, frustrated with my imperfect half-square triangles, and unhappy with my fabric selection. Three years later, I rearranged the squares that I HAD finished and alternated them with large plain blocks, ignored the imperfect corners, and asked a local quilter to surprise me with a finished quilt. I love how my imperfect piecing is now a beautiful quilt that my daughter will receive as a wedding gift this June! She is also getting a matching scrappy quilt made up of all those little squares and oddly shaped half-triangles that I seriously considered throwing away. I call it Red and White "Blue Streak" #2!
