Faerie Frolic

Faerie Frolic was designed for the second round of the McCall's Quilting Design Star contest. We were given a yard of fabric and were told to make something. We could add as many other fabrics as we wanted but we couldn't purchase any more of the challenge fabric. We had 4 weeks to complete this round I carried the fabric around with me for three weeks trying to decide what to do with it. It was a large floral piece and wouldn't work for piecing like I'm used to. I was ready to give up when 4 days before the deadline I decided to put Heat N Bond on the back and fussy cut all the flowers out. This quilt is unlike anything I'd ever made before (or since)! I completed it barely before the deadline and wasn't sure I like it at all... I WON THE ROUND!!
