Into the Woods

My daughter asked me to make a quilt for her boyfriend of three years. We looked for fabric together and she ended up selecting the "Wild at Heart" layer cake by Riley Blake. As it turned out, I had also picked up a layer cake of this fabric as a daily deal. He is very tall so we needed both layer cakes. This one is 80 x 101, the largest quilt I've made to date. After looking at the fabric I decided I didn't want to cut it up into small pieces. I remembered Jenny's Super Simple Squares. Jenny used charms but I used the layer cake. It was backed in snuggly Shannon black fabric. I really like how it turned out. Better yet, he loved it!
