Market Day
Our next door neighbors are in their 80s. We have lived next door for twenty years. Each year they have a garden and share the extra veggies with us. They are so sweet. Katie has been having trouble with her back and shoulder and has been having to sleep in a chair for some time now. I had been wanting to make her a quilt and found this adorable fabric with veggies and market stands. I decided to make a lattice quilt. At first I used honey strips but couldn't get the corners to match. I tore the whole thing apart and redid it using jelly strips. It turned out much better. I still don't know what I was doing wrong with the skinnier strips, but I guess they were much less forgiving. It was backed in a English garden-type print and quilted by a local quilter. The quilt was gifted Christmas 2018.
