Finishing a Quilt Started by Another Quilter

Finishing a Quilt Started by Another Quilter

A friend who belongs in a quilt guild was given this partially finished top. The quilter had passed away from cancer and they wanted someone to take this and finish it up. The friend finished the complicated set on point piecing but didn't care for the colors or pattern. She bartered it with me for a few of my handwoven rugs. When I got it, I realized I could not free motion quilt it myself. So I sent it off to a gal I know in Montana to quilt it up for me on her big longarm machine. She used a wool batt and did a wonderful swirly design with some hearts and leaves and roses worked in. We use this on our king sized bed and just LOVE it! I am sure that cancer quilter is smiling to know her work was finished for her.
