The Tree of Life

This Significant Tree died in 2004 but has been retained for its habitat value. The dead limbs provide a place for birds to view their territory and hollows provide nesting sites for birds, possums and reptiles. The tree is located in my neighbourhood in Adelaide, South Australia and is so beautiful I thought it would make an ideal picture quilt. It is my first attempt at an applique art quilt.
