Throw back Thursday

I was given this quilt by a 91year old lady who received it for a wedding present from her mother. Just look at the beautiful piecing and hand quilting done with tremendous love by her mother. Nellie said she had a two year engagement and it took her mother that long to make it. Nellie passed away and shortly after this was given to me. She asked her daughter to give me this quilt she treasured. I offered it to her daughter as it was a family heirloom but she said no her Mom wanted me to have it. I was her visiting nurse. I pictured it with my husbands grandmothers singer as I can imagine it being pieced on a machine like this one.
