Gloria's Quilt

Gloria is a dear lady who was a caregiver for my Mom for about 6 years. Although my Mom was unable to sew by the time the two of them met, Mom's love of quilting was evident throughout the household. I gingerly stepped up to the idea of making a quilt for Gloria, having never made a larger than wall hanging project -gulp! Gloria got to pick the colors; Mom helped me choose the pattern, and off I went. Sadly Mom passed before the quilt was finished, but I got to watch via Skype as my sister presented it to Gloria. We could all feel the presence of my Mom as the box was opened; not a dry eye anywhere near the screens.
