180 BABY

180 BABY

My department manager at the office sent out a message to our group suggesting a diaper drive for a young engineer (and his wife) who is expecting a baby soon. I am the only quilter in the group (only woman too), so when I saw the registry and saw that some modern triangles and stripes with these colors were on their registry, I could not help myself. Since I was headed to a MSQG for the MQG that very weekend, I decided to design and create a quilt as a gift. It was so fun! I call this 180 Baby, for what other event in life can cause a complete 180 in your schedule! The triangles are 8 1/2" 60 degree triangles cut using a Jaybird Sidekick ruler. The back was from some of those leftovers and yardage from Michael Miller, Basically Hugs, Robert Kaufman, Moda, Timeless Treasures & Cotton + Steel. Do you think I had the bases covered with designers! I laid the colors out ahead of time in EQ7 so that I minimized waste when buying fabric.
