Memories of Papa

My daughter-in-law's grandfather died last winter. She asked me to make a quilt from some of his shirts. It was one of the harder projects I've done because the fabrics were all so different. But it was also fulfilling to give her a gift of memories. The back is made from large pieces of shits, but also includes, at her request, a sleeve. She wants to be able to slip her arm in one of his sleeves and get a Papa hug. The quilt design is taken from images of his gardens and his love of family. The small doll sized quilt was made from leftover scraps for one of his great grandchildren.
