Comfort Quilt

My 23 year old niece will soon be having a kidney transplant as both of hers are failing. My sister (her mother) will be donating one of her kidneys in an exchange program so that my niece can get an age-appropriate kidney. My niece is terrified, of course, and also knows that this will change her life forever. She will no longer be able to eat her beloved sushi. This niece also has ADHD, as well as a social disorder (I don't know what it's called), among other issues. Needless to say, her whole life has been a challenge. So, to provide herself comfort while she's in the hospital, she asked me to make a quilt out of some of her most treasured tee shirts. (I have no clue what any of them mean.) I used a Craftsy class as my guide. Filling in the spaces around the tee shirt blocks was quite the challenge for me.
