Turquoise and Toffee

Turquoise and Toffee

This is my Rock Valley Quilters Guild (Janesville WI) 2015 Challenge quilt. The Challenge guidelines were our block name must start with one of our initials and we must use the Challenge fabric on the front of the piece. I chose Buzzsaw block (B is my last name) from McCall's Quilting Nov/Dec 2012 pattern Pinwheel Pines. Our challenge fabric was a background type fabric mine being tan with deeper tan swirls. I had been saving turquoise fabric for some time including some yummy batiks. Finally had a reason to cut into them and not just look anymore! Machine quilted by me. Had a blast quilting it..way more fun than the piecing. And whoever said "it will quilt out" was soooo wrong!! Totally enjoyed doing the machine quilting. So far from perfect, but I will never be a fabulous longarm quilter, but feel I will have a style of my own and that is just fine by me. I get an idea in my head, figure out a way to do it..and go for it. Right now, I have no machine quilting rules..so anything goes. Not everybody may like my style, but as long as it makes me smile, it is all worth it! Quilt to make yourself smile......
