Throwback Tessellation

This quilt is made using the Tessellation pattern by Alison Glass and the Throwback fabric collection by Tula Pink. I picked a few coordinating solids and gave each block a color designation. My goal was to get a rainbow effect quilt with some awesome secondary patterns. I quilted this with straight lines as to not detract from the piecing. I also did a fun pieced detail on the back using my scraps. I still have a lot of scraps though! This quilt was entirely foundation paper pieced and after the learning curve, it was quick work. Pre-cutting all of my fabric pieces and organizing them by block and color helped speed things along. Surprisingly, it was piecing the blocks and rows together that took the longest! Some of the seams are really bulky but the quilting hides it nicely.
