Quilt for my mom

I have always loved quilts, but never really thought I could make one. My curiosity and determination got the best of me and I discovered Missouri Star Quilt Co. I wanted to make a beautiful lap quilt for my mom's 83rd birthday. I studied all kinds of quilt patterns by watching a lot of tutorials from Missouri Star and found the perfect pattern, the "alter ego" pattern. Then I hunted down the perfect layer cake called fresh cut by Moda. Following Jenny's easy directions, I had so much fun cutting and sewing! It came together so beautifully! Being so new to quilting, i had someone quilt it for me. I was so proud when I gave it to her and she was thrilled and very proud of me for making it! She loves it!
