Circle Quilt

Circle Quilt

Okay, so. I decided to try a circle quilt after seeing a MSQC tutorial. The twist is that I didn't want to buy the template used in the tutorial because I thought it was too "project-specific" and opted to buy a circle template instead. When I started preparing, I quicly remembered that I HATE cutting fabric. I got sloppy and was cutting several layers of the circles at a time. As a result, some of the circles were distorted and looked more like ovals than circles. Needless to say, this quilt will not be winning any county fairs anytime soon. I sewed 2 - 9" circles right sides together and gird a a 5" square piece of batting to one side with a glue stick. The. I snipped a small hole along the top of the batting to turn. I do not think I will use this method again. If I do, I will use jeans. That way I won't have to use batting and I will be able to leave the raw edges of the denim to fray instead of cutting 2x the circles. I have quilt ADD. I don't like to do a lot of cutting or prep work and I want to be done QUICK. Did I mention you have to be accurate with this or your circles will not line up appropriately? Despite my lack of cutting accuracy, it turned out okay. It's definitely not my best quilt.
