Flowery Fan Dance

I had made up a pile of Dresden Plates a couple of years ago using scraps and my Sizzix. I had intended to create a large quilt but I saw an online tutorial by Anna Maria Horner for a quilt called Fan Dance. It used half Dresdens and two pieces of background. I realized I could do this and I had a baby present coming due and it was time. I cut my dresdens in half (I think Anna Maria made hers 1/2 style) and appliqued them to the large pieces of fabric. I also used left over black fabric to make the binding and it looks sharp, in my opinion. I gave the quilt to a co-worker and his girlfriend at a shower today and the woman cried-it turned out that, unknowingly, I had used green and black and white fabric and those were the colors they wanted for the nursery.
