wedding gown to christening quilt

I was brought a velvet wedding gown (circa 1970's) and asked if this could somehow be made into a christening quilt. I used almost every piece of velvet and much of the lining in making the quilt as well as almost all seven (yes 7) yards of lace I handpicked the stitching from to remove it from the cathedral veil.
