Friendship Quilt

We go to a local restaurant for dinner every week. It's a family owned and run business and the servers are all friends, some have been friends since Kindergarten. One of the young ladies was leaving her home town in South Carolina and moving to Alaska where her fiancée was stationed. Because she was missing her friends so much, I gave them all 5x5 white squares with freezer paper backing and quilting pens and they wrote notes to her that I combined with a few charm packs and made her a quilt. It was the largest quilt that I had made and I wasn't sure if it would come out right but she loved it. Now she'll always have notes from her friends wrapped around her on cold Alaska nights.
