Retirement T-Shirt Quilt for Rhonda

One of the teachers at my husband's school is retiring and I was asked to make a tee shirt quilt. Several teachers contributed t-shirts. Buying the t-shirt backing at JoAnn's made this a fairly easy project. I had just bought the border and sashing fabric for another project, but it matched all the colors of the t-shirts perfectly. My quilter did an awesome job custom quilting each block. The entire staff signed one of the blocks. A dear friend embroidered the congratulations. The patched block was made and appliqued from other parts of t-shirts pockets or sleeves. I backed the quilt with a soft gray minkey. The retirement party is in a couple weeks.
