GiGi's Jewelry Box

This quilt is based on the Fons & Porter "Strippy Diamonds" quilt from (I believe) the Spring 2014 edition of "Quilting Quickly" magazine. Joel Dewberry's "True Colors" line for Free Spirit fabrics was a perfect complement for the decor in my mother's library, so I began this quilt as a birthday gift for her - in 2014! The original design did not include the points. They were cut off before binding, but I decided to keep them, add handmade, beaded yo-yos at each intersection, piece the background squares and give it a modern edge with some interesting quilting.
