Invited to a wedding, my son asked me to make a quilt. He perused my Pinterest & every one he liked was a bargello. The colors he selected were from the Artisan line. And he agreed to do all the pressing. I drew out the design, then set to figuring out how to make it. This was my first bargello & I did not make it easy on myself. The young couple met my son online - in a World of Warcraft guild - about 11 years ago. They are fast friends and spend hours together every week, fighting and playing and talking on their headsets. The wedding day will be the first time they meet in person. We wanted the design to allude to their shared gaming experience, but wanted it to be a lovely, adult quilt. Classic - not novelty. Almost every video universe has some sort of portal or gateway, so that's the idea. The bargello also gives a pixelated effect. My son & I are both happy with the result. Hopefully, the recipient will be too.
