Thrift Store String Quilt As You Go
I started going to the thrift store and buying all of the scrap materials they had for about 6 months. I wanted to make a quilt like my grandmother used to make..she called it a stringy quilt. I even found the batting, border, and backing the thrift store. The backing was already cut into 14 x 65 strips of red material that I only had to sew together and the border was already cut as well. I used the quilt as you go method but instead paper, I used cut up squares of scrap batting. The total quilt cost me $50 to make this king size quilt.
