Vintage Boston Commons

This Vintage "Boston Commons" quilt top was found in a box of fabric and orphan blocks that I bought at an online auction. It is hand pieced in colors of pink, purple, yellow and green. Someone did a wonderful job hand piecing this lovely quilt top. I quilted it with a baptist fan with a swirl pattern on my friend's long arm while visiting her in Florida. I planned on facing the quilt to keep the points from the on point squares, I worked on the facing for two days. I had the facing turned to the back, but the vintage pink fabric started to shred. I had to cut the points off to make a even edge. I put a regular binding on in a soft yellow. It was windy out today when we took the picture. 70" x 78"
