My Very First Quilt Ever

My grandma passed away last December, and my mom was devastated. As my brother was helping Mom clean out Grammy's house, he got the idea to smuggle out 2 bags of her clothes...he knew I sewed, so he figured I could do something with them for our mom. Thanks to Pinterest, I found Jenny's tutorial for a rag quilt, and got to sewing my grandma's old t-shirts together. Grammy always loved roses and springtime, and it is so fitting that her quilt perfectly captures that essence of her :-). My brothers and I presented the finished quilt to our mom as a surprise on the first Mother's Day ever that she was without her own mother. Needless to say, she was absolutely thrilled with this tangible keepsake, and could not stop crying happy tears! Making this quilt got me interested in "real" quilting, and ignited my newest obsession :-)
