Checkered Madness
Let me get started by saying that I'm a 26 year old guy who grew up watching his mom quilt (all by hand, start to finish!) for the early part of his life. I always loved my moms quilts, but unfortunately only the baby blanket she made for me has services the years. Anyway, fast forward 16 years, my mom's health has decline to where she can no longer quilt, so I decided that I'd put on my big boy pants and kinda continue a family tradition of quilting. I wanted to make something for me--something that I'd use every day. Armed with no knowledge of how to sew or quilt, I quickly bought a brother machine, watched YouTube and Pinterest religiously, picked my material and started right up! Now, I'm a big guy, and I wanted a big quilt, so I made this thing big. Like 144"x 144" big. It's done and I couldn't be happier.
