A Christmas Cardinal inspired by Charley Harper

I enjoy the art work of Charley Harper, especially his birds, giraffes, and other animals. His cardinals have always appealed to me because of their bright color and modern lines. This small wall hanging is used on my front door during the holiday season. The applique pieces are sewn to the background with a buttonhole stitch in black thread.
