Butterflies For An Angel

A dear friend of my son who is pregnant, went in for her normal 5 month ultra sound and her little girl was diagnosed with Encephalocele, a condition where the skull does not form properly (if at all) over her brain. Life expectancy is questionable. Not knowing if she'd even make it to full term, I offered to make her baby a quilt. She asked for two things; butterflies and the color purple! Here's what I made for the baby girl.
