Boondock's 4th of July Quilt

I watched MSQC's Surprise Half Hexi tutorial and decided to do it in red, white and blue. Then lunacy struck and I thought, I should put a star on the blue. So I drew it up, turned it into a paper pieced pattern and started sewing. The first block convinced me I was crazy, by the second I gave up on perfect centers, by the 48th I decided NEVER again. Paper piecing with 10 points coming together perfectly is beyond my skill set. I used the leftover fabric that was going to be the outer border to make Boondock a quilt.
